DOG CALENDAR ENTRY

REECE, CHOCOLATE LAB/PIT

Angela Jergler.

I do some volunteer work here and there for Labrador Friends of the South and even tried fostering once. This one time fostering led to Reece. Reece is a 1 year old Chocolate Lab/Pit bull mix (Pitador) that I adopted from Labrador Friends on August 14, 2007. I think this foster failure thing happens to every foster parent at least once! Reece has come a long way since I adopted him. He was found by a LFS friend by the side of a road, emaciated and infested with ticks and fleas. He hasn't stopped eating since! I cannot get over how much of an attention hog Reece is. He is always looking for love and always wanting to be right under foot (which I know is a trait for both breeds). I really noticed how much Reece wants attention from everyone so tested him in my Therapy Dog organization that I am a member in with my other Lab. So, on April 19, 2008, at only 1 year and one month old, Reece became a Therapy Dog with Happy Tails Pet Assisted Therapy! He goes on visits with children in hospitals and behavioral facilities, drug rehab patients and psychiatric patients, and educates the public on being around dogs and how to treat them, and just offers his love to everyone! It's such a rewarding activity for both of us.Reece is a very active, fun, and all-around happy dog. He loves his big brother, Bennie, and every person and dog he comes in contact with. I am so happy to have Reece as a part of my life and know that he will bring me, and many other people, joy for many years to come!

Angela,

Reece and Bennie are very lucky to have you as a wonderful mom who loves them very much and provides them with all the security and comfort man's best friend deserves.

It is also wonderful to see you both sharing that love with others in need through your therapy program! Keep up the good work!

Reece is beautiful and this picture of him makes me smile!

Reece not only looks great, he is great! I have had the honor of personally experiencing Reece's charm. He is wonderful with children and everyone he encounters, and i bet he makes a wonderful therapy dog with his kindness and patience. Anyone who meets him wants to hug him and take him home with them!

I remember the day Angela called me on the phone when she was trying to decide to adopt Reece. She knew it would be a big responsibility and an uphill battle. Now, one long year later, through ups and downs, Reece has come a long way and we are all so proud of him (and his parents)!!

He's the orphan that has survived, learned alot and wormed his way into everyone's hearts. he's the mischevious one, and he's grateful for the home he has found. He's everything a Grandparent could hope for. PLEASE PICK REECE , HE'S A WINNER

Angela - You know that I can attest to Reece's good nature and friendly demeanor. I have enjoyed having him over and also enjoyed keeping his big brother when you are out of town. I became a believer in Pit bulls after meeting Reece. Of course, it helps to have a great mom who is constantly teaching them how to behave around others. Love Mark and Barbara (And Jules, Chance, Jodee, Lucee, Bandit and Coco)

Reece is as lucky to have you as you are to have him. You have given him a great home and big brother, too. Lucky dog, lucky you!
